Charitable Giving

The Fort Wayne Children's Foundation is a 509(a)(1) publicly supported entity and charitable organization. Our mission is to continually grow our corpus, allowing the earnings from the corpus to help fund our endeavors to help prevent child abuse. There are a multitude of ways in which to donate to the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation. No gift is too small. Some ways to contribute are, with no order of priority:

Memorial Gifts 

If you wish to honor the memory of a family member or friend by making a contribution to the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation, please email us at fwcf@fortwaynechildrensfoundation.org. Include the name of the individual you are honoring. Please state the designation of the gift, and we will confirm it with you. The memorial gifts will be listed on our website in perpetuity.

Securities, Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds

To transfer securities electronically from your brokerage account, you will need the following information to deliver the securities to the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation: First Clearing LLC, DTC #0141, #2708-7071 - Fort Wayne Children's Foundation, Tax ID # 35-1929601,534 Union Chapel Road Fort Wayne, IN 46845. Planned Gifts 

There are many different ways in which to assist the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation through the planning of gifts. This involves the consultation of your advisors such as attorneys, accountants, and asset managers. Things such as simply including us in your bequest for your estate, with the legal description required for your attorney being the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation, Tax ID # 35-1929601, c/o Byron R. Braun, 429 E. Dupont Road, PMB Box 189, Fort Wayne IN 46825. Or it could be other things more elaborate, such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts, gift annuities, as well as other strategies as they may arise. Information can be complex, and so it is suggested if one is seeking to give to the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation via these various forms, we would be more than happy to meet with your advisors to discuss how we may assist in this matter. It is important to seek the advice of a qualified estate and/or tax professional when considering any form of planned gifts.

Real Estate 

The Fort Wayne Children's Foundation will accept the donation of personal residences, farms, vacation homes, commercial properties, or other forms of real estate, which can provide you with tax savings or other benefits now or for your estate.

Life Insurance 

Name the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. This also can be a way of helping prevent child abuse. If you wish to explore this method of supporting the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation, call or write us, and we will be more than happy to discuss the proper notation to be included on your life insurance policy.

Retirement IRAs and Pension Plan Designations 

The Fort Wayne Children's Foundation can be listed as a beneficiary of your IRA, retirement or pension plan. As with any other bequest, one should consult their tax advisor prior to making such decisions.
