Summit City Chef Competition Winners Announced

Fort Wayne, IN, September 11, 2015 – The fifth annual Fort Wayne Children’s Foundation Summit City Chef Competition held September 9th at Sweetwater has awarded its winners. A panel of judges and guests voted for “Summit City Chef”, “Best Dessert, and “Best Wine.”

Chef Demetrois Rumentzas from TW Fable’s In Bluffton was awarded both “The Summit City Chef” and “Best Dessert.” Rumentzas received two traveling trophies as well as two watches presented by Peter Franklin Jewelers. Hideout 125 was awarded “Best Wine” and was also awarded a traveling trophy.

The competition showcased chefs in the Fort Wayne area that also included Executive Chef Jesse Arnold III of Club Soda, Executive Chef Brian Shreffler of Hideout 125, and Executive Chef Preston Fallat and Pastry Chef Max Brandon Neal of the Fort Wayne Country Club. Each chef had to prepare a dish with two specific ingredients; coffee and black beans.

The money raised from the event goes to the Fort Wayne Children’s Foundation. Serving the greater Fort Wayne metropolitan area and surrounding counties including Whitley, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Noble, and DeKalb. The Fort Wayne Children’s Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to contribute to agencies involved and dedicated to the prevention, counseling, and treating child abuse and neglect.
